My Alvis baby is 19months old...
Here's a brief update of Alvis at 19months old...

18th October 09 Sunday
Weekend bilingual class at Julia Gabriel...
We were still early thus I decided to bring Alvis baby on board the bus and train to Forum...
Definitely a longer journey compared to taking cab, but we saved so much! :)

August's Last Weekend

It was raining the whole of yesterday and I hate raining days as always.
Now with Alvis baby, I dislike raining days more because we simply can't go anywhere outdoor and we love being outdoor..

Wanted to bring Alvis baby for a swim cuz he hasn't swam for the longest time already but ended up we could only stay at home and hear the raindrops on our windows...

The daddy was on MC yesterday because he suffered from stomach discomfort and then had fever on Saturday night due to a viral infection... Plus the wet weather, 3 of us stayed home and were so bored! Lucky Alvis baby brought the gloomy Sunday laughters and his cuteness just melted my heart over and over again...

We got nothing better to do, so I did a tattoo on Alvis' leg...
His 1st tattoo ever...

It's from StarHub and it says "Happy Days Are Here!"

Indeed happy days are here with Alvis baby. :)

Later in the night, I spotted Alvis baby putting his toys away by himself...

He managed to tuck all the toys inside without any one falling out...

Though it is a simple task, but I felt real happy to see Alvis put away his toys on his own without me telling him to do it..

(Most of the time, he usually couldn't be bothered to put them away neatly)

Still, I'm proud of you baby! Keep up the good work.

I hope it will not rain so much so we can go have some outdoor fun on weekends.

Alvis' 1st membership of his life...
haha, nothing fantastic, not any high-end luxury club membership..
just some playground he can visit till he turns 12.
haha..

nonetheless, I'm still very proud of his very 1st membership card..

cuz the card has his face on it! haha...

the very 1st card that goes into his 1st wallet...

The night before last night, let Alvis baby wore his rain boots around in the house to parade...
The size fits perfectly now, if he doesn't wear it often, soon he won't be able to fit in those cute boots anymore.
So even though we can't go out at night, he still gets to wear them in the house! (with socks though, haha, that's easier to slip his feet into the boots!)

August Family Day

Saturday Hubby was off...
Thus it was our weekend Family Day...
Because of Hubby's work nature, he's not so frequently off on weekends, thus I treasure weekend off together very much...
Got to know from Gwenneth's mum, a.k.a. future in law, about eXplorerkid at Downtown East...
It's an indoor playground at E!Hub Downtown East..
Check it out with your little toddler! I'm very sure he/she will like it like Alvis!
It was Alvis' 1st membership of his life too! They have a very cute membership card with their photo on it.. Will upload the picture of the card on the next entry...

Here we were, after entering with our socks on, bags locked away in the locker..
Time to enjoy the fun!

Thus I did not let Alvis in, the kids in there were very rough too...

The toddlers in here just sat at a stationary position... haha.. much more gentle and harmless than the other pit with the kids above 3 years old...

At first he struggled to lean back..

Then we noticed him trying to lie back on his own! haha...

This was the obstacle playground that got me sweating and panting...

We were both so proud of Alvis baby...
It was his first time, and he climbed very well by himself..
Daddy just occasionally helped by patting his backside to cheer him on and to standby behind him to catch him should he fall...

But our little precious climbed his way up...
I was really happy to see that my little baby has grown... :)

but the way up to the slide was not easy ok! We had to climb and crawl and I panted thru out k!

Then we went for one last slide before our 1 hour game time was up...

The staff helped us took a family picture before leaving...

A very nice one... :)

It was a fun day... We will be back again, but not so soon.. haha...
Alvis' membership is valid till he turns 12. We sure have lots of time to re-visit again and again..
Need to check out other interesting playgrounds too!

That night at home..
I went to Compass Point to buy supper for me and Hubby...
The Daddy home alone with Alvis..
Alvis wore his boots from his MIL for the first time..
Hubby told me that he loves it alot and kept walking all around the house... :)

When mummy's home, the two boys were watching Mr. Bean...

Bedtime for Alvis after that, and supper time for Mummy and Daddy...

Updates of the 3 of us...

A very good HELLO to all you readers...

I must apologise for the one month of "vacation" I was on from updating my blog...
Thank you all for checking on us periodically..
I am not neglecting this blog for sure.

Our lives are still pretty much the same..
Weekdays work for me and Hubby..
Alvis baby goes to aunt's place in the morning and we bring him home every night after work. :)
Each night we would play with him and tuck him to bed at around 9+pm... After which either me or Hubby will wash and sterilize his bottles to prepare for the next day...

We would also do housework for example like cleaning the floor, emptying the dustbin, cleaning the tables, the tv console as now Alvis baby walks all around the house, it's very important to keep the environment as clean as possible.

On days when Hubby work noon shift, my papa dearest will send me and Alvis baby home and Alvis would always say 'xie-xie' and 'thank you' to his y-gong dearest.

Alvis baby is talking alot now already... He is starting to talk in sentences, short ones of course. He also imitates anything I say to him or even say to Hubby.

After bath when I need to wear his diaper for him, I would say "Open your leg please, Alvis", he would follow me too. I laugh at everything that comes from him and I totally love how he is interacting and communicating with us.

He is growing his molars, I can see his swollen gums and it must be a difficult time he is having now. I just hope he will bear with it while his little teeth grow and enjoy brushing his teeth on his own.

I will upload some pictures of Alvis baby in awhile. So stay tune! :)

Family Portfolio Photoshoot

I have been thinking of doing our family portfolio shoot now that Alvis baby is already 15months old and relatively understands to pose, smile, laugh in front of the camera and is definitely more fun age than taking when younger.

I've went through a couple of photography studios and finally decided on this one that my cousin had took her maternity shoot and newborn shoot with.
Excited I was, but having second thoughts.

Much I want to have a family portfolio taken with just the 3 of us, but we're thinking of completing the family with another little sibling for Alvis baby.
So I thought it would be better to take a family portfolio only when our family is completed.
And thus, that'll be call a FAMILY portfolio.

So I would put the family portfolio event on hold for now..
And I've decided on the following arrangements:

-Maternity portfolio when I'm preggie with #2, with Alvis baby and Hubby included
-and finally a family portfolio when #2 is at least 1 year old, we will take a family portfolio together. :)

I hope my arrangement and plan is a good one, though I would really love to have a family photoshoot taken sometime soon.

Gee. I'm freezing in the office.

Aside to the mother in law - I've got evidence that Alvis likes his new haircut. I will upload the video tonight! haha. stay tune!

The super long update.. hee...
Thanks for dropping by and checking.. haha..

Weekend was fun as usual...
It's when I get to spend like 24hrs every minute with my darling Alvis baby...
Bonus will be when Hubby is off..
That'll make our happy weekend even happier..

So, over the weekend, on Saturday it's just me and Alvis baby as Hubby worked...
I planned to stir-fry Hong Kong Noodles..
Everything turned out very well but once I added the noodles in to fry, it all screwed up..
Sad and disappointed I was, but nevertheless, it was a good try..
At least I did try and had a feel of how it was like...
I'm sure the 2nd time I'll be able to do it well...

Initially I was very worried I might not be able to cope..
Being home alone with Alvis baby and having to prepare dinner...
So once Alvis baby settled in for his afternoon nap, I quickly start my preparations and cooking dinner...
In between my adventure in the kitchen, I made quick dashes in and out of the bedroom to check on Alvis baby...
And I had to keep praying that he wakes up after I'm done...
The feeling was kinda exciting but pressurizing..
Luckily Alvis baby napped for 2 full hours...
I managed to prepare the 'failed dinner' in less than an hour and even had time to shower and tidy up his play area...

So... I'll try again! At cooking! No sweat! :)
(have to thank my big darling for washing the wok I left unwashed and his encouragement that meant everything to me)

On Sunday 5th July 09, Hubby was off so YAY!
Happy I was and I bet Alvis sure was too!
Once we woke from our good night sleep, we brushed our teeth (including Alvis baby) and washed up and changed and proceed to Hougang to meet the Y-gong for breakfast cum Alvis' hair cut session...

Alvis baby's hair was pretty long and his fringe was already growing beyond his brows..
Uncomfortable and warm in Singapore weather, mummy I decided to ask the hairdresser to cut it real short.. and cute.
So mummy I decided on bangs. haha.
like what e daddy had when he was young..

Because Alvis baby don't really like to cut his hair, daddy prepared ourselves for the hair cut.
He went to buy a ball to distract Alvis baby before it was his turn...
But Alvis baby was still pretty uptight...
Then I suggested showing Alvis baby my iPhone that I had the "Baby's flash card" program downloaded free from the App Store.
Alvis baby likes this particular App and he has already learnt and is able to identify a lot of words from the flash card.
And thus he sat there looking at the flash card app and let the hairdresser finish his hair cut obediently...
Good boy, son. Mummy is proud of you.
Let's do the same for the next hair cut. :)

Then we came home for Alvis baby's morning nap and I prepared his meals and out we went to China Square weekend flea market after Alvis baby had his lunch.

Well, mummy and daddy love it so much!

I just love to kiss and hug and sayang our precious...

My Alvis baby at 15 months...

Yesterday my Alvis baby turned 15months old..
15 months ago yesterday I gave birth to him at noon time and that was when we first touched...
Every month on the 18th, marks a special day for me.
It reminds me how old my Alvis baby is and that my little precious who was just 3.4kg at birth is now a big boy, into his toddlerhood...

Next week is his MMR vaccination...
Can't wait to bring him to Dr Low and let him stand on the electronic weighing scale (yeah, when they were little, they lied down on the scale, now they stand on those used by adults.. hehe) and stand against the height measurement chart...

I've never really blogged about his milestones, his growth and his achievements because I've always believed that each baby grows differently at their own pace. All I want and pray each day is that Alvis grows healthy, tall and strong, and happy most importantly...

The things that he does these days really bring laughters to everyone..
I would say he is very vocal and he is fast in catching words I say, probably because of the fact that I've been teaching and started since he was very young.
I would very much like to share what he can say and identify at his age of 15months, for the very first time, because I feel he deserve mummy's little praise here. :)

Our Humble Pad

Kite Flying

Last Sunday was Family Day..
Hubby, Alvis and me went to fly kite. :)
How fun does that sound?

Very fun it was. :)
The weather wasn't that beautiful, it was gloomy, drizzling, but we managed to fly our kite and let it soared in the sky for quite a while...

Yeah, the one at the extreme left is ours. hehe..

As the weather wasn't really good, we went to Compass Point to grab a bite..

and Alvis got to ride with Barney after our meal..

After baby slept at 8pm, which is early I know and I like that, I took some pictures of our humble pad to share with everybody here...

Help Little Charmaine Fight Her Illness

Family Day on The Singapore Flyer

Last saturday was our Family Day for the last week of May.
Initially our plans for that day were to go have a swim at the swimming complex near our home and then to fly a kite that we had bought on our trip to East Coast Park weeks ago.
Then we recalled we had a pair of complimentary tickets to The Singapore Flyer and the tickets were expiring on the last day of May...

So, plans for that day were changed.
We needed to go to The Singapore Flyer to utilize the ticket, else it's so wasteful.
hehe..

First we went to China Square...
Me and hubby used to visit China Square quite frequently in the past..
Whenever our off days fell on a Sunday, hubby would make it a point that we went there for awhile.. for his love for the flea markets and the toy shops there back then...

And we frequently had our tea-breaks at the Ya-Kun there...
Nice ambience, old-school kinda feeling...
It was Alvis' 1st time there...

We love the toast and runny eggs from there...

Yes, it was Alvis' 1st time trying such toast-ED bread...

He was enjoying the toasted bread a lot and kept asking me for more..

But then, me being me, haha, I only let him tried a bit and it's only plain toasted bread..

yes, without the kaya, or the butter or the sugar.. haha..

Then Alvis had his organic apple there..

I brought along our steak knife from home and asked for a metal spoon from Ya-Kun, rinsed it with hot water and fed Alvis his organic apple there..

haha, quite messy, but who cares.. =X

I cleaned up before leaving, as usual.. :)

The weather was unbearable.. and Alvis was perspiring under the hot sun before we went into the flyer compound that was air-conditioned.

Alvis' hair can therefore be 'combed' so neatly because it was rather wet from his sweat..

and I love to kiss him...

I would very much love to kiss him non-stop!

Err.. for those who had been on it will know what I meant by scary...

On the flyer, the mummy was actually quite afraid of height...

but Alvis seems to find the 'flying experience' rather interesting..

So many things to see from above and he quite enjoyed looking down.. haha..

Don't want mummy to hold him... :(

Alvis was amazed by the show for a few minutes with daddy carrying him on his shoulder so he could see Thomas above the crowd..

Then he wanted to get down and walk around... in the crowd..

and touch Thomas and Friends merchandise..

He really looked like as if telling me he wanna buy...

Then we went to have dinner..

Alvis had his porridge brought from home as usual..

hehe..

His corn + pumpkin + potato + broccoli + carrot porridge...

When he had his first mouth and you asked him "Alvis, nice or not?"

Sunday daddy had to work, so I brought Alvis baby to my cousin's place to play with Dennis and Javier...

I'm very sure Alvis had a fun time over at my aunt's place..

He enjoyed very much the playtime with Dennis and Javier..

Too bad Dennis is going back home to Indo today and I wonder how soon will they be here again...

Dennis is a lovable boy and it was nice meeting him after so long..

Hope he won't forget this yi-yi of his when he goes back to Indo..

We all had fun together...

okie, i apologize for the late update...
but it's not about our new love nest for now.. yet..
haha... it's still us... 3 of us...

Out for his vaccination..
Chicken Pox vaccination at 14months...
The daddy had to attend some training at workplace, so Alvis and I went to Dr Low's for the vaccination, while daddy was just opposite us for his training..

Alvis baby only cried a little and took much lesser time to settle down that day..

After the vaccination, brought baby to wait for hubby at NAC...
Then we proceed to have our lunch..

We've finally shifted in to our new place officially on 10th May 2009.
And yes I've not updated on our new home..
There are still many stuff to unpack and sort out, so I think I will only post up pictures after I've done with thorough cleaning and packing...
Nonetheless, our new home is already comfortable and clean for us to stay in for now..

It's a world of our own...
And we're on our own from now on...
No more kind help from parents on our laundry...
We have started to do things on our own.. like our own laundry, sweeping, mopping floor.. washing dishes (we've been doing all along) and keeping the house clean and tidy...
Last night was my first attempt to bring Alvis baby home from aunt's place..
Monday we were on leave..
Tuesday hubby was on morning shift, so we fetched Alvis baby home together..
Yesterday hubby was on noon shift, so I went home to fetch Alvis baby home first..
We left aunt's place at 8-ish pm...
I had to carry Alvis baby, carry my own handbag, and Alvis' bag consisting of milk powder, bottles, porridge bowl, dirty clothes... and a shopping bag that I brought some clothings left over at my dad's place..
3 bags in total with 1 Alvis...not easy. =P

But still, I managed to handle everything quite well, though I was perspiring in my long sleeve dress and without my hair tied as I forgot to bring rubber band out with me.. Once we reached home, I bun up my hair and put Alvis baby in his stroller, we walked to compass point to collect our laundry of the sofa cover and the quilt...

Shopped around at Compass Point, went to Kiddy Palace to let Alvis baby play with some toys.. Then we headed home at about 9.50pm to be in time for Alvis baby's bedtime..

Drank milk when we reached home, but heard his daddy came in thru the door after he finished all his milk and he sat on the bed, called "papa" numerous time while the daddy made his way to wash his hands before coming into the room to kiss Alvis baby continuously everywhere. :)

Guess we need a bit more time to get used to our new home and to really settle in... But overall, everything's fine and great and it's a new change for the better...

Well Done, My Boy!

I want to note this down before I forget one day...
So proud of Alvis and I'm definitely very pleased.

Alvis baby slept thru the night after his last feed at 9.45pm.
This is not the first time he slept thru though...
The amazing thing was he didn't wake up at all for any comfort or soothing, he didn't use the pacifier the whole night at all..

The previous night he fell asleep with my kissing him non-stop..
Amazing as it sounds, I was as surprised how he can fall asleep with my non-stop kissing on his cheek and his palm and his fingers..
But he did.
Crystal said "too loved and fall asleep"
I love that. haha..
Most of the time he don't need a pacifier to fall asleep too..
The pacifier is sometimes to be used in the middle of the night if he happened to wake up for milk, to either delay his milk or to let him go back to sleep without having to be fed.
On almost all nights I have no problems tucking him to sleep after his milk feed without a pacifier, he can fall asleep with me singing or me patting or sometimes I just lay beside him and cuddle him with me, he'll fall asleep quietly..

This morning I woke up and realised "baby didn't use his pacifier at all throughout the whole night!"
That is something me and hubby cheered about.

Good job our dearest darling..
Thanks for letting Papa and Mummy had a good night sleep, knowing that we were both tired after a hard day's work of running errands for our new home..
Papa and Mummy slept at 10pm with Alvis baby...
All the way till the sun shines this morning. =)

1st Weekend of May 09

Had such a fun long weekend with Alvis baby...
It's late now and I should be in bed but I just wanna blog about the weekend before the busy week ahead...

Last Friday was Labour Day...
In the morning the daddy went over to our new home to receive the delivery for the washing machine...
Was told that the fridge is out of stock and will be delivered only on a later date..
I just hope it'll be before Sunday...

Anyway we were busy on Friday and didnt take any photos.. haha.
After lunch we went to Ikea Tampines to buy many stuff for our new home...
Alvis had his 2nd afternoon nap in that noisy crowded Ikea on a public holiday..
We were there for many hours.. and also settled our dinner there...

Saturday hubby had to go back to work..
Supposingly he had requested to take leave but it was not approved as there's not enough manpower to work...
Shouldn't they get those on off to come back to work instead of those who took leave?
haha.. weird.. we still have so much to do, and a day was "wasted" like that..hee.. =P

Anyway I brought Alvis to wait for hubby to finish work that night...
We went to the toys department while waiting for daddy..
Alvis had such a fun time there, looking and exploring the toys on sale...
Mummy didn't buy any though...

1. I don't know which to buy
2. We're in the midst of moving house and I don't want to add to the already-so-many-stuff-to-move pile of our belongings..
3. the toys these days are so expensive! hahaha..

But I don't think Alvis wants to buy any of them either..
haha, he just played with them by himself, letting out squeals of excitement once in awhile and studied the toys attentively...

I feel it's good to bring Alvis occasionally to the toys department to look at the toys and lay his fingers on them but not buy any home..
I think it's quite a good teaching?

In the morning, the daddy and the y-gong and the ah-gu went to did some logistics works and had the sofa, coffee table, computer table and mattress delivered to our new home...

Was trying out the different functions on our camera last weekend...

Hubby's Annual ICT

If you've read every single entries of my blog, you will know that I hate it when the hubby has to go for his annual ICT, a.k.a reservist..

His reservist is usually about 2 weeks.. sometimes 3 weeks...
and I hate it... very very much..
especially when he has outfield and he can't book out every night..

Luckily this time round he doesn't have any outfield.. and he won't be having any more outfield, even for his last ICT next year..
I'm super glad.

For my close friends will know I always grumble and complain alot when hubby dearest is away in camp..
Best friend Jeremy had to listen to my grumblings whole day at work back then when I was still working at Flash n Splash.. and hear me countdown..
He even once told me he will bring me to Sungei Gedong to find my dear..
haha..
My shu babes know when my hubby is away in camp, I'm like a walking moodless zombie..
haha..
and I am like a lifeless person..

We bought pails, detergent, scrubs, broom, mop, gloves...

JG Trial Class

Last Wednesday, Alvis attended the first class of his life..
haha..
I brought him to the Julia Gabriel Trial Class at Forum..
We were late.. =P
When we were there, the kids were playing with some paints and dotting colors on their paper fish..
As we were late and Alvis didn't had ample time to settle down and to adapt to the environment, he was rather shy and reserved and didn't really touch that piece of paper fish in front of him...

I helped him stamped some colors on the fish, demonstrating to him on how to go about doing it..
He just watched but didn't move his little hands..
Haha..
"No worries darling, it was your first lesson..
Take your time.. Mummy just want you to have fun..." =)

Alvis enjoyed himself in the Little Tikes car when they were having playtime in the mini playground at the school..
That's when he truly enjoyed that day..
Haha, oh ya, and also snack-time when the kiddos were given rice crisps.
OH! and the Byebye Bubble Time..
When one of the teacher blew bubbles for the kiddos to catch...
Alvis loves bubbles..

After lesson, we went to Wheelock to have lunch..
Mummy wanted to have NYDC cuz there was 1-for-1 for dbs card.. =P
cheapo deals right.. haha..
Hey, but it was worth lor... hur hur....

Went to meet my dearest shu babes that I missed badly..
A nice dinner we had together at Tanglin Chong Qing Hotpot..
A cosy place..

清明节

It's the 清明 season now....
Also known as Tombsweeping.
During this festival, things that people do are paying respect to ancestors and cleaning up the tombs and altar..

Today, the Ang family went to Lim Chu Kang Cemetery..
To pay respect to my beloved lovely ah ma (granny)..
Who left us on the 29th April 2001...
When I was only 15...
8 years has passed....
But I still miss her, dearly..

This is the 1st time Alvis baby is joining us in tombsweeping exercise..
After his lunch, while waiting to set off...

Yes, I guess I'll be able to let my blog 'live' again..
It's been so quiet and so dead...

SIGH
On Thursday 2nd April, brought Alvis baby to Dr Low as he was having slight fever, runny nose and cough...
We suspect that it's the virus from the daddy as the daddy was sick during that period of time too..
Little Alvis must have felt so uncomfortable..
With so much phlegm in him..
With the nose running..
With coughing so hard..

No much appetite..
Disturbed sleep..
Today is the 8th day, and I think he is finally slightly better as he didn't cough any bit the whole of last night..
Aunt called and said he threw up the medicine just now together with some milk when I was having my lunch....
Hope that he did threw up some phlegm too..
Hope he'll be much better later when I fetch him home...

Sigh.
I hate these viruses....
Really hope Alvis baby will recover totally very very soon...
Before tomorrow morning can?
It's the long weekend ahead..
I really hope he can enjoy his long weekend with me and the daddy on Sunday..

My precious baby, get well soon, really..
All these 8 days, my heart ached so much and we were all tired and didn't quite get much enough sleep..
And worse is Alvis seems to appear a little slimmer..
Must be the poor appetite..
He must have missed his super big bowl of porridge and super big bottle of milk...
I must get those lost weight back...
Hopefully we can attend Monday's Julia-Gabriel class virus-free.. :)
Mommy is also meeting her much-missed shu babes on Monday for a dinner..
Like finally after I quit..
Missed them so much and super can't wait..
Have been counting down that day in my mind and the date marked in my calendar...

On the 8th April, the painters painted our new home..
Thanks to Mr Eddie for the good job. Mr Eddie is the painter that we've engaged to do the painting. Together with his 2 other partners, 3 of them painted the house from 9.30am till only 4pm and they were done.
Hubby complimented that it was good and fast job, and they are really nice people.
We met Eddie for choosing of the colors and I find him very nice, very fatherly..
Hubby had a fun day chatting with them yesterday while they painted the house..
He bought lunch and tea break for them as well and made friends with them..

With a new coat of paint, the home indeed looked different..
And that made me even more excited to move in...
Really can't wait..
All these while waiting, hasn't been easy..
Very tough in fact..
Hubby had taken some pictures before and after painting..
Will upload them tonight (hopefully I have the time), to give a sneak preview to our new humble pad..
Nothing spectacular, nothing impressive, nothing 'wow'..
but i'm sure it's gonna be special, cosy, comfy with the 3 of us in it..

It's a whole new world.. of our own...

(Sorry Alvis baby that mommy and daddy couldnt give you a proper place of our own when you arrived. This place of our own came a little too late and Mommy is feeling quite bad over this but I hope you will not mind... There were many unforseen circumstances.. Sorry for having to move to y-gong's place for these few months and not getting your well-deserved space to roam around.. Mommy hope it's not too late, and that you will love our new home.. our own home...)

A brand new experience awaits....

Yesterday was the day...
We went to HDB at around 8.40am for our 2nd appointment cum resale completion...
It was the day we've been waiting for...

Some of you may know about us having our own place soon..
For those who do not know, ya, we've bought our own flat and have gotten the keys yesterday. =)
I was very happy..
The day finally came..
And the moment when we gotten the keys to the flat, I was overjoyed. =)

For so long I've waited, it was really a long wait.
Without the help of N, all these would have been impossible.
Now that I've gotten the keys, I will try my best to settle everything for our new home soon..
So I can repay N's kindness... =)

As the hubby had asked, the date for us to go and 'open' the door to the new home is tomorrow, 25th March 09..
I can't wait to do the 'open door' rituals..
haha..
it will be the first time I'm looking at the flat bare...
No furnitures..
No belongings of the previous occupants...
And we are the new owner of the unit.. =)

I am very happy..
That finally we have a place of our own...
Though it may come a little too late, now that little Alvis is already 1 yr and 6 days old..
But I hope Alvis can understand all the wait..
and that let's all look forward to our little cosy humble crib...
A world of our own... =)
A brand new experience awaits...

Brought Alvis for his pneumoccocus jab yesterday..
At 1 year and 5 days old, he weighs 11.3kg, 77cm tall..
He cried a little when the needle poked him...
And after that when we were out of the PD's room, he was holding on to my hands and 'running' around laughing...

At 1 yr old, he :

eats 2 porridge meals a day, consisting of dried scallops, fish, spinach, broccoli, potato, pumpkin, carrot sometimes.
drinks max of 240ml of milk per feed
is on Gain IQ
waves and says bye-bye
say mama or mummy, papa, mum mum, neh-neh (milk), no-more, ah-gu (uncle), ball-ball, and learning to call y-gong
imitates tongue clicking sound, yawns, coughs, laughs when burps or hear you burp out loud
holds our hands and walk around
stands on feet with little assistance
loves to listen to mummy sing

and the list goes on...

tonight i shall double boil some ABC soup for his porridge tomorrow..

so aunt can use them to cook with his porridge...

Looking forward to weekend with him...

Sigh.. now i miss him so much.... =(

hehe.. still sleeping soundly beside me in his stroller while daddy and mummy had their dinner...

I was hospitalized on Friday evening because of severe headache at work after lunch..
So pain, it was the worst in my life...
I called hubby to come fetch me from work to see a doctor as it was really unbearable..
I rarely had headaches...
Went to GP, referred me to the hospital for further examination..
Then at the hospital, the doctor suggest I admit that night so they can do a scan for me as he is afraid that there's bleeding in my head.
I got a shock... was so frightened by his words...
I so wanna go home to see Alvis baby but then I also wanted to know the cause of my headache..
So under a 'no-choice' circumstance, I was admitted to TTSH..
Hubby went home after they sent me to a ward...
To bring my stuff and hopefully to stay with me overnight as I don't dare to stay overnight in hospital alone..

But at around 12+am, he was told to go home by the nurse... =(
I was left alone.. so i quickly fell asleep...
I kept telling the nurses and doctors that I wanted to go home by Saturday afternoon...

So they took blood from me to test.. urine test...
Went to do CT scan for my head and MRI scan for my brain..
Results were all fine..
I had low blood count..
and the possible cause of the headache could be migraine....
Sigh....

Hate to know that I have such problem...
I don't know why...
Since I rarely have headache...
Probably too tired and stressed ba...

Anyway before hubby came to fetch me home just now, I told him to try to cook porridge for little Alvis...
Gave him some instructions...
On what to put into the porridge and how to cook..
I reached home at around 5pm..
Bathed and then brought Alvis home from aunt's place..

At around 6.15pm, I went to take the porridge out from the flask I told hubby to keep the porridge in..
To my pleasant surprise, the porridge looked very nice..
The color, the texture and the smell....

=)

I was delighted. =)
At least I know my hubby can prepare his porridge.. =)
and the most important thing is..
Alvis loves it..
He ate a big bowl of porridge just now for dinner...
Happily... =)

A very big thank you to dear for taking time off work to attend to me and Alvis baby..
And thanks to all whom had showed concern..
Especially my colleagues at work..
Took care of me while waiting for hubby to pick me up yesterday...
and the many messages sent to ensure I'm ok...

Guess I'll have to take more supplements to try to increase my blood count and think less... =)

Alvis' 1st Birthday Part 2 - Actual Day

Yesterday was Alvis' baby's actual birthday...
18th March 2009..
He is officially 1 yr old...

To celebrate this joyous occasion, the daddy and the mummy took time off work..
To spend this special day together Alvis..
So off we went....

Alvis' 1st Birthday Party on 15th March 2009 @ Rosewood

We celebrated Alvis' 1st Birthday on the 15th March 2009, on a Sunday.
The venue was at my aunt's place, Rosewood.
Very nice of her to offer to hold the party there since I couldn't get a room at Aranda Country Club.
Thanks gugu, I really appreciate lots..

We woke up at almost the usual timings..
The routine was almost similar..
I bathed Alvis baby the first thing we woke up.. cuz he like it fresh and he has been taking his morning bath always at that timing, before 9am.

It is hard these days to keep him lying down and not move for you to dress and wear his diaper.
So, always had to standby toys and stuff for him to keep his fingers busy when I quickly do all the necessary, which are wiping him dry using dabbing motion on his tender soft skin, dress him, apply Desitin Creamy, and wear his Pampers EasyUp...
Then he will be all ready to have his breakfast...

Hee... Daddy was snapping while I was dressing him...

We left for Rosewood at about 10am...
Need to go there to prepare and standby as the caterers and the decoration people would be there anytime to setup...

The delivery from Neo Garden came first..
I can see the man really did put in effort to try to decorate the buffet table....
I spotted him standing there and like thinking how he should display those dishes..
haha..

The daddy ate first with me...
haha.
We were hungry, and so we ate first, in case we were to be too busy later when the guests arrived...

Next, the decoraters came..
Abit rush.. I believed they were being held up at the previous event..
True enough, they were..
But they stilll did their best they could to help me beautify the function room..

Countdown 4 days to Alvis' Birthday Party :: Me & My Love Episode

Yeah...
It's been awhile since I talked about me and my love..
My most important man on earth, besides my dad...

It's another 4 days to Alvis' birthday party...
and 7 days to the actual day that Alvis is turning 1 year old...
which also means that it's soon gonna be a year since our baby arrived...
which also means that it's about 1 year that we've been parents...
first time parents...

Me and hubby have been together since 2003...
This is our 7th year together...
almost 3 years of BGR....
4 years of husband and wife..

1 year of parenthood. =)

It hasn't been an easy and smooth year for us since the arrival of Alvis baby..
But I'm sure it is getting better...
We've both worked hard since we had Alvis...
We had made sacrifices..
We hadnt have time to just the both of us like before..

Ultimately, we've learnt alot and will still continue to learn...
To be a better us.

So today I dated my hubby for lunch.
haha. yes I dated him.
why?
because I want to thank and appreciate him for this 1 year we struggled so much together...

you must be wondering why not go for a nice dinner after work? =P
because for those who TRULY understands me, will know, I can't bring myself to enjoy after work when I know I'm supposed to be at home or anywhere else, with Alvis baby.
So I got to use that pathetic lunch hours...

Hubby came to pick me up and we headed off to Suntec....
I wanted to bring him to Tony Roma's..
I know he likes the ribs there...
Now economic crisis, cannot go to Lawry's...
hahaha...

So here we were...
At Tony Roma's during lunch today..

We went for Half Slab instead of the regular ones cuz we had a super hard time trying to finish our regular ones the other time...

i dont know what i'm saying.
but just wanna say, thank you my dear, we shall give ourselves a pat on our shoulders.
I believe, we've done a great job! =D =D

On my birthday in 2007, we visited Tony Roma's..
and sat at the same table as today.
and we both sat at the same side of the table then and today....
and we had mozarella sticks...
and almost quite similar sides...

Which was so huge and I remembered we had a hard time finishing them...
Back then my appetite was better than now la..

Countdown 5 days to Alvis' Birthday Party

It's another 5 days to Alvis' 1st Birthday Party...
The mummy is excited...
and so is the daddy...
Alvis? I don't know... He still don't know how to express..
But these few days I can tell he is more sure of the things going on around him..
This morning when aunt came to bring him..
He hugged me like a koala..
put his head on my shoulder and whined...
nice feeling though, i must admit...
Cuz that shows he can't bear to see me go work, can't bear to part for the day...
But I hate to hear him whine.. Not that I dislike the whining sound he made, but because I don't want him to be upset...

But because he also loves my aunt who took great care of him while I work, awhile of whining and then he was fine.. He was still calling for me when they walked to the staircase, but after that he stopped.

ok, my heart ached.
haha..
But was so happy when I went to pick him up just now..
When he spotted me, as usual, his whole face lited!
Now he has learnt to put his head on my shoulder to show that he wants to 'sayang' me.
hehe..

Eating 2 meals of porridge per day...
Loves to snack on those healthy lil snacks mummy bought for him...

Gosh.
I know for sure once he turns 1year old, I'll have a long entry to post.

Chloez's 1st Birthday Party

Yesterday spent another good Sunday with Alvis baby at home..
Besides his meal time and nap time, he spent most of his time on his playmat...
Playing. Crawling. Talking..
hehe..
Yes, he so likes to talk these days and he can go on and on and on...
I always ask if he's tired..
haha..
but obviously he doesn't understand what I'm asking him.

But it was even weirder cuz I was craving for it for quite some time already...

And the nice people at Abbott delivered a 400gm of Stage 3 formula for babies age 1yr old onwards..
Very nice of them and the timing is just in time....
Once Alvis baby finish his new current stage 2, expected to be after next week, he can start with his stage 3... hehe..
My baby is soon gonna be 1 yr old already! =D

At around 5pm, I brought Alvis baby to Chloez's 1st birthday party at Aranda Country Club...
This was the very nice cake.. from cupcakedivinity...

As I was carrying alvis with me and had to take pictures as well, some of the photos didnt turn out really well...
We took alot of photos together with Celestia and Chloez..
But shall wait till Celestia to send me the softcopy when the photos are ready.. Looking forward, cuz if I'm not wrong, she did hired a photographer for yesterday's event.
